Kanten Papa Brand Konnyaku Jelly
Today I cracked open two packs (grape and apple) of jello mix from the Kanten Papa corporation, which sells dessert (among other) mixes. It was a fun and simple little activity to do with the kids, and we very much enjoy the flavor (which tastes just like the gummies from the Meiji brand candy maker).
Konjac (konnyaku) is a species of yam that creates a gelatin like texture but is majority undigestible fiber. Many people use noodles made from it as a substitute for weight loss (because it barely contains any calories), and I enjoy it in hot pot.
I also broke out my cute bento silicone food holders, since they happen to make cute molds for everything that require molding!
This was super easy, just pour in 2 cups of hot water for each packet of mix, pour into molds, and voila! Actually my curiosity for this was piqued even more because a thicker concentration from the leftover on the bottom actually created pieces that were remarkably gummy candy like.
There’s no recipe for this particular post since it is a pre-made mix, I just enjoy sharing something I found tasty, easy, and really cute!
