Perennial Food Forest Planning and Consultation
If you’re looking to build a food forest of your own and would like help, I provide design and consultation services, as well as on site analysis (within Suffolk and Nassau county) to provide you with a cohesive plan suitable for your land. Whether you have a large plot or a small plot, I am happy to work with you to create an edible landscape of your own.
Plans and consultation are charged by project, and start at $250. Included:
- Climate analysis of the area you wish to build a food forest.
- Adapted to your specific dietary and lifestyle needs (fruit vs. vegetables vs. mixed, medicinal vs. food, and how much hands on maintenance will be needed.)
- Plant selection also based on soil, water, and sunlight availability (just because your area is shady doesn’t mean you can’t grow food!)
- Quantity selection based on your desired cost and space availability.
- Information and ideas on the plants selected, including history, growth habits, care requirements, recipes and food uses.
- Crash course in simple permaculture tips to decrease water usage, increase yield, and decrease needed input/maintenance.
- Written plan for you to keep.
Additional services may include:
- On site consultation (within Nassau County and Suffolk County.)
- Hands on guidance on transplanting, growing, propagating, and pruning.
Backyard Poultry Keeping Consultation ($75/hour)
If you’ve always wanted to keep poultry but don’t know how to start, or have questions specific to your situation that you would like guidance on, I provide information on care, coop site selection, breed and species selection. A tour of my projects is included so you can get hands on experience to help decide if it’s for you.
Recipe and Article Writing (With or without photography)
I write articles and recipes for several clients and am a writer who specializes in copy for food, cooking, gardening, homesteading, and backyard poultry keeping. I also provide photos for your use (and the rights to them released to you).
Rate: 14cpw (cents per word)
Photos: $95 for 4 photos (with extras included.)
AirBnB Guidance, Set Up, and Photography
I help set up and manage AirBnB units which include:
- Walking a client through downloading the app and setting up listings as well as consultations about what is needed.
- 6 photographs (within a 50 mile radius) of the unit for the listing.
- Write the copy for the descriptions, house manual, and house rules in accordance with the desires of the host.
Rate: $400 per listing
